A native spring wildflower, producing pale yellow flowers from March - May.
Prefers a cool, shady spot, although will grow in full sun or partial shade.
Attracts bees, butterflies/moths and other pollinators.
It is the caterpillar food plant for the rare 'Duke of Burgundy butterfly (Hamearis lucina), also various species of moth.
