An exciting and trendy new 'Fleuroselect Gold Medal winner'! Verbena bonariensis 'Vanity'.

A more vivid blue/purple to the taller v.bonariensis and more compact growing habit. This variety can be grown in pots on a patio.

A herbaceous perennial with erect, sparsely-leafed stems and numerous branched clusters of small, vivid purple flowers. Perfect for middle of the border for intense colour (or in containers).

Flowers continuously from June until the frosts in late autumn.

Height: 80cm / Spread: 45cm

A wonderful butterfly plant but also loved by bees and other pollinators. Seed heads can be left for the birds, until new growth emerges the following spring.

Great for cutting.

RHS 'Plants for Pollinators'.

Verbena bonariensis 'Vanity'

  • Grow in full sun, in moist but well-drained soil - Clay/ Chalk/ Sand/ Loam.

Grow in a mass for best effect. Middle of the border or in large patio containers.

Cut flowers regularly to encourage growth and to prolong flowering. Deadhead if you do not want it to self-seed. Cut back in spring once new shoots emerge at the base.

In cold areas, protect with a dry winter mulch.
